Q. What are Fixes and why do I need them?

IBM periodically creates Fixes to correct problems or potential problems found within a particular IBM licensed program. Fixes can consist of documentation and/or code.
Fixes are also called Programming Temporary Fixes (PTFs). A PTF is temporary only in the sense that it disappears with the next release of the product, when the code patch is integrated into the base product code.
